Has It Been Awhile Since You Did Your Fellowship Host Training?
Here's a quick review!
1. Start Small, Focus Deep
“The fellowships can start small, and even if it stays small for a while, that is completely fine because the goal is to equip and disciple people. If you’re doing that, you’re hitting the bullseye. The bullseye is not large. The bullseye is affecting people’s lives.” — Kevin Zadai
Key Scripture:
“Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes.” — Acts 2:46, AMPC
2. Build a Safe Place
“If it’s safe, then people will let down. They’ll receive from the Lord, they’ll receive from you… and from that safety, then people will begin to heal and grow.” — Kevin Zadai
3. Prioritize In-Person Over Online
“Meeting house to house is great... These fellowships are never meant to be complicated... it’s really a Christian being themselves. It’s a Bible study.” — Kevin Zadai
Online tools help fill gaps (remote access, traveling members, follow-up), but your fellowship should aim to meet in person whenever possible. Being present changes everything — meals, healing, laying on of hands, shared prayer — none of these can be replicated fully online.
4. Stay Consistent
“Pick a day and time every week. Keep the meetings consistent and a 1 ½ hour minimum (30 minutes of video teaching, 20 minutes of discussion, 20 minutes of prayer, 20 minutes of fellowship).” — Tips for Getting Started
5. Keep It Simple and Outreach-Oriented
“It has to keep that simplicity. It has to have that safe community... One of the main things that Kevin and Kathi want to see is that these fellowships are very outreach-oriented...” — Kevin Zadai
Outreach ideas:
- Keep a food pantry or blessing box
- Mow lawns or clean homes for neighbors
- Visit nursing homes or hand out sandwiches
- Pray in public places with gentleness and love
“You don’t have to be a pastor... You’re just being the heart of the Lord.” — Kevin Zadai
6. Group Flow: Simple & Spiritual
Each meeting includes:
- Video teaching (provided weekly)
- Discussion using the PDF
- Prayer for needs
- Fellowship time over food
- Optional journaling, outreach planning, or testimonies
Encourage members to take ownership — praying, bringing snacks, inviting others.
Reminder for Directors
The online room is a bonus tool, not your ministry. Your ministry happens in your home, in your prayer time, in your city.
Kevin and Kathi’s heart is that you create a safe place where God moves — and everything starts with a yes.
“It’s not always the big prophetic words… it’s just being a Christian and doing it.” — Kevin Zadai
